Results from Macroinvertebrate Study (Updated 7/10/02)

We have worked on the river and we have found out the biological water quality of the Cinca river in seven points of control using macroinvertebrates biotic indexes (BMWP, Hellawell, 1978) and GLOBE hidrology protocols (summer 2001 to spring 2002). We've made a digital map using a Geographic Information System (MiraMon, www.creaf.uab.es/miramon) in order to show the status of the water. Here is a sample of our map (each little square represents summer, autumn, winter and spring).

Under the direction of Jose Luis Escuer Ibarz, students from the Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria in Fraga Spain, have been investigating the Clamor River and the influences it has on the water quality of the Cinca river in their region.
The main objective of ther study is to investigate this question using the GLOBE hydrology protocols and compare their results with those from the last 20 years gathered by the Hidrographic Confederation of the Ebro.
