Hydrology

Dr. Roger Bales and Dr. Martha Conklin, University of Arizona.

Dr. Bales and Dr. Conklin provide guidance on GLOBE student measurements of hydrology, which focus on the temperature and the chemical composition of surface waters. They support student study of water quality by developing measurement protocols, and by providing guidance on how to interpret the hydrology measurements. Both Dr. Bales and Dr. Conklin hold Ph.D.'s in Environmental Engineering Science from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Bales is a Professor and Dr. Conklin an Associate Professor in the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources at the University of Arizona. One educator, Cyndy Henzel, and three graduate students, Anne Kramer, Chris Peters and Chris Gutmann are also are part of their team
